Ripley and Heanor News - ‘Ed, 2, to get his birthday wish’

In reference to the article in this week’s Ripley and Heanor News - ‘Ed, 2, to get his birthday wish’.

We cannot accept the praise from Ed’s mum about arranging for a rubbish lorry to come to his birthday party. We simply passed on the request to our recycling and waste collection contractor, Veolia, and it was Veolia’s staff that made the arrangements.

The company, at its own expense and in its own time, is making Ed’s wish come true and we would not like to steal its limelight.

The visit is being made when the vehicle is not being used on Council operations. It will have no impact on our services and there will be no cost to local taxpayers.
