Amber Valley Borough Council is under a duty to protect the public funds it administers, and to this end may use the information you provide to it for the prevention and detection of error, fraud, and other forms of crime such as money laundering - or to satisfy the requirements of a request made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 or the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.

For these purposes, it may also share and match this information with that of other bodies responsible for auditing or administering public funds.

Such bodies may include the Cabinet Offices National Fraud Initiative (NFI), the Department for Works & Pension (DWP), the National Anti-Fraud Network (NAFN), other local authorities, government departments and agencies.

Data held by credit reference agencies (CRA) may also be accessed and matched.

However, under the Data Protection Act 2018, your personal information will not be released without your permission, except where the law allows.
