With Coronavirus (COVID-19) now affecting many areas of our services to the residents and businesses of Amber Valley, we are keen to keep you right up-to-date with the changes we are being forced to make. Read more about your council services.
The borough council plans to become carbon neutral by 2030 and as part of this, has approved plans to undertake 16 hectares of new tree planting on existing open spaces and other land owned by the council. In addition to removing 6,400 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere, the planting will create a network of new community woodlands and orchards for local residents to enjoy, which would be called "The Amber Valley Forest for the Future".
Prior to undertaking any planting, the council would like to hear the views of local residents and organisations on the proposed planting and locations.
The council would be grateful, if you can spare a few minutes to complete the short questionnaire below, which is available until 25 October 2019.
