To help provide a trading boost to Amber Valley’s four town centres of Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and Ripley, Amber Valley Borough Council has announced that free parking will be available in all of its pay and display car parks between Monday 22 June and Tuesday 30 June 2020.

The free parking is aimed at encouraging residents and visitors to shop in the Borough and deliver a much-needed boost to traders and the local economy, as shopping restrictions are eased.

Councillor Ben Bellamy, Deputy Leader and cabinet member for regeneration, commented: "The council wants to encourage people to shop locally, in our four market towns. This is a particularly crucial time for local traders as they try and get their businesses up and running again and so we hope that this period of free parking will provide an incentive to shoppers to visit, which translates into additional business for retailers."

Free parking is available from Monday 22 June, until midnight on Tuesday 30 June 2020. Other rules regarding parking in disabled parking bays and maximum stays will still apply.
