Community response unit

With Coronavirus (COVID-19) now affecting many areas of our services to the residents and businesses of Amber Valley, we are keen to keep you right up-to-date with the changes we are being forced to make. Read more about your council services.

A Community Response Unit for Derbyshire is being established as part of the government’s plan to have a network of ‘hubs’ across the country. These will provide targeted support for those people who are at very high risk of severe illness from coronavirus (COVID-19) because of an underlying health condition and don’t have access to help from friends, family or trusted neighbours. Derbyshire County Council will be the administrative unit delivering the hub with the assistance of the district and parish councils and volunteers. The focus will be on providing access to food, medicines and other supplies in the first instance but they will also be given wide-ranging advice including about support from councils for daily living.

We’re calling on Derbyshire’s strong network of community groups, voluntary organisations and businesses to help by joining the Derbyshire Community Response Unit. Do you belong to a business or group that could help supply goods or services?
