Amber Valley Borough Council is currently looking to appoint as charity trustees at least three suitable individuals over the age of 18 to have the responsibility for the general control and management of the administration of The Ripley Recreation Ground charity.
The Ripley Recreation Ground is a registered charity with the Charity Commission (registered number 520502). It was first registered on 20 August 1964. It was formerly known as 'Ripley Miners Welfare Institute and Recreation Ground' and 'Nottingham Road Recreation Ground'.
'The object of the charity shall be the provision and maintenance of a recreation ground for the benefit of the inhabitants of Ripley and its neighbourhood with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants’. (clause 5 of the governance document).
It is located at Greenwich Park, Nottingham Road, Ripley, Derbyshire, and last year opened new facilities which are proving to be a much used and valued social asset (acquired through collective working and substantial funding from Amber Valley Borough Council and Ripley Town Council).
You need to be genuinely interested in the charity’s work and be willing to give your free time to help run the charity and move the recently reinvigorated charity further forwards. Being a trustee takes commitment. If you believe that you also have the experience and skills to take up and discharge the role, please apply in writing giving your CV and providing a personal statement setting out details as to why you believe that you are suitable and why you wish to become a charity trustee, and addressing how you comply with the person specification (maximum 500 words) to:
