Found Dogs

The Dog Control helpline is open from 8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday, 10.00am-4.30pm on Wednesday.

If you find a dog within the Amber Valley area between those hours

Ring the Dog Control Helpline on 01773 841335 to speak to a member of staff. You will be asked for the following information: -

  • Your name, address and telephone number
  • Description of the dog
  • Any identification details i.e. disc etc.
  • Where and when you found the dog

The Dog Officer will be contacted to collect the dog from you as soon as possible.

If you find a dog outside those hours

Ring the Dog Control Helpline on 01773 841335.

You will be given the option to transfer to the Emergency Duty Officer who will advise you accordingly.
If you would like to ring the Emergency Duty Officer direct, you can dial 01773 841414.
