Large or Bulky Waste Collections

You are can take large items of household waste such as fridges, freezers, carpets and furniture to Loscoe Household Waste and Recycling Centre. However, if you are unable to transport your waste to the Recycling Centre then Amber Valley Borough Council can remove large unwanted items from your home. Please check the list of items that we can collect.

We collect a wide range of items, however if you wish to have something removed that is not listed below, please contact us and we can offer further advice.

Household Items:

  • Furniture
  • Doors (internal & external – no glass)
  • Carpets
  • Settees
  • Armchairs
  • Beds (base + headboard = 1 item)
  • Mattress = 1 item 
  • Ironing boards
  • Wardrobes (broken down)
  • Toys in bags (1 bag = 1 item)
  • Dining table = 1 item
  • Chair = 1 item

Electrical Items:

  • Small household electrical items
  • TV’s
  • Computers
  • Fridges (not industrial sized)
  • Freezers (not industrial sized)
  • Washing machines
  • Electric organs (subject to weight )
  • Tumble dryer
  • Gas cooker
  • Electric cooker
  • Hoover
  • Electric lawn mowers

Hazardous Waste we do not collect:

Prices for the removal of large items of household waste 2018/19

Below is the list of prices for collecting your large, bulky waste items for recycling / safe disposal.

  • Bulky waste (1-3 items) - £18.50
  • Bulky waste (4-6 items) - £28.50
  • Fridge/freezers - £17.50 per item (please note we do not take industrial sized fridge/freezers)
  • Electrical items - £17.50 per item

Please note that no refunds will be given after payment has been received and the items to be collected cannot be changed.

Skip Hire

Before any skip is placed on a public highway, the skip provider must first apply to Derbyshire County Council for a permit.
