Green homes grant

With Coronavirus (COVID-19) now affecting many areas of our services to the residents and businesses of Amber Valley, we are keen to keep you right up-to-date with the changes we are being forced to make. Read more about your council services.

On the 8 July the government has announced that financial incentives of up to £5,000 will be made under the £2 billion Green Homes Grants scheme. For those on the lowest incomes, the scheme will fully fund energy efficiency measures of up to £10,000 per household.

Energy-saving measures include upgrades such as insulation, double glazing, low-energy lighting and energy-efficient doors.

Although the exact details of the financial support are not yet known the council is urging local property owners to consider accessing the new grants.

The council is working in partnership with Westville who are a local family run insulation business that has operated in Amber Valley for the past 30 years. They can provide a free no-obligation visit and advise on options. Westville are now gearing up to be able to carry out surveys free of charge and provide no-obligation quotations, so that once the scheme is launched work can proceed.

Westville can be contacted on 0800 454419 and provide an survey and quote. There will be many other companies that will be marketing access to the funding and residents are advised to check carefully the credentials of the company.
