How has the project been funded?

A grant has been provided by the Future High Streets Fund (FHSF), a central Government Scheme designed to breathe life back into British towns. The grant amount was £8.59m with the total invested in each of the three Heanor projects from additional sources set to exceed £17m. With changes to the structure of funding at UK Government departments, the FHSF moved into DLUHC (Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities) and subsequently MHCLG the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

What co-funding has been committed?

The Future High Street overall budget, as agreed under the terms of the contract is

  • £8,592,837 - Future High Street Grant including contingency
  • £9,232,570 - Co-funding committed
  • £17,825,416 - Total scheme; supplemented by further Brown Field Land Release funding

Co-funding is defined as capital, finance, borrowing or development finance secured by Amber Valley Borough Council or directly contributed by Amber Valley Borough Council capital.

This includes £1,033,901.28 secured via the Brown Field Land Release Fund to support the delivery of new homes and will include further home building investment.
