Cabinet reshape

Following our recent Full Council meeting on 22 May 2024, we are excited to share with you the new Cabinet Portfolios of Amber Valley Borough Council.

This realignment has been made to better reflect our Priorities Plan, ensuring that we place the needs and interests of our residents at the forefront of our efforts.

The newly assigned portfolios and their respective members are as follows:

  • Councillor Chris Emmas-Williams (Leader of the Council) is appointed cabinet member for the Policy Portfolio.
  • Councillor Emma Monkman (Deputy Leader of the Council) is appointed cabinet member for the Planning and Regeneration Portfolio.
  • Councillor Matt Allwood is appointed cabinet member for the Housing and Climate Change Portfolio.
  • Councillor John McCabe is appointed cabinet member for the Communities and Street Pride Portfolio.
  • Councillor Elaine Sherman is appointed cabinet member for the Community Safety Portfolio.
  • Councillor Tracey Hill is appointed cabinet member for the Regulatory Services Portfolio.
  • Councillor Tony Holmes is appointed cabinet member for the Organisational and Commercial Transformation Portfolio.

Cabinet members have responsibility for monitoring performance within each of their portfolios and have overall responsibility for monitoring the achievement of the council's ambitions and priorities allocated to them.
