Website disruption on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 April

We're carrying out an essential server upgrade from 9pm on Tuesday 28 April, continuing into the morning of Wednesday 29 April. During this time, some parts of our website may not work as expected.

Please do not attempt to make payments through the website during this period, as these may fail or not be processed correctly. You may also experience issues when trying to check information (such as planning applications or bin dates), download documents or submit online forms.

We expect everything to be back up and running by midday on Wednesday 29 April.

We're sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we carry out these improvements.

Mobile food vehicles

Some town centre street have been designated as "consent to trade" streets. This means that we can permit people to trade on these streets upon payment of a fee and provided certain conditions are met . These include footway width, access/egress, competition with other town centre shops, etc.

The current consent to trade streets are:

  • Alfreton - Institute Lane
  • Belper - King Street
  • Ripley - Market Place Area and Oxford Street

Mobile food vendors may be able to trade as part of our Friday & Saturday markets at Ripley & Heanor. Interested vendors should contact Amber Markets on 0115 9135382.

The council's off-street car parking order does not permit AVBC car parks to be used by mobile traders (including food vendors).

You will also need to refer to paying business rates.
