We’re exploring how Severn Square could become a more welcoming and vibrant space at the heart of Alfreton. As part of wider plans for the town centre, the aim is to create a place where people can come together to meet, relax and take part in local life.
The square isn’t currently reaching its full potential and doesn’t easily support events or longer visits. This project is an opportunity to improve the space, so it feels safer, more attractive, and better suited to everyday use.
The designs explore how the square could be improved with better seating, planting, lighting and flexible space for events and activities, creating somewhere people want to spend time.
