Amber Valley Borough Council’s Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) for town centres and parks is due to expire on 26 October 2026. This PSPO originally came into force on 19 October 2017 for a period of three years and has since been extended on two occasions, covering a total period of nine years.
The PSPO has been effective in addressing antisocial behaviour within the existing areas and in supporting the safe use and enjoyment of our town centres and parks. The Council wishes to exercise its powers under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 to renew the order for a further three years. In addition, it is proposed to extend the geographical boundary to the Riddings Park area.
The current Town Centre and Parks PSPO is available on our Public space protection orders page. Please view the Riddings Park map showing the proposed new boundary.
We would like to hear your views on whether the PSPO is still required within our town centres and parks, whether you consider it proportionate, and whether you support or object to the proposed order being renewed and varied.
The consultation will run from 7 May 2026 until midnight on 17 June 2026. If you wish to take part, please complete the questionnaire below before the consultation closes.
