Read Easy

Helping adults learn to read

The stark reality is that there are 2.4 million adults in England who either can’t read at all or struggle with this most basic requirement for everyday life. On a practical level, this means that carrying out everyday tasks can be challenging, if not impossible, whilst being unable to read and write is associated with higher mortality, depression, isolation and mental health issues.

Read Easy Derby & District is a local voluntary organisation that helps adults learn to read via free, confidential, one to one support.

The volunteer group will be offering coach interviews and one-to-one sessions in our Town Hall office in Ripley for residents in Amber Valley and Derby.

If you know someone who struggles to read please visit their website or Facebook page using the links below.

Or contact local Read Easy Coordinator, Marianne Sterland on 07522 013732 or email derbycoordinator@readeasy.org.uk.

If you would like to volunteer as a reading coach, please email derbyrecruiter@readeasy.org.uk.
