Health and wellbeing

You don’t need to be a fitness fanatic to get involved in our health and wellbeing programmes - this is all about helping you move more, feel better, and enjoy everyday activity in a way that works for you.

In this section, you’ll find everything from local community classes and organised walks, to information about our leisure centres and other ways to stay active across the borough.

We believe movement is for everyone, every day. The Move More Amber Valley Strategy is our commitment to making physical activity a natural and accessible part of daily life. By working together with communities, businesses, and public services, we’re breaking down barriers, reducing inequalities, and supporting healthier, happier lives for all.

Being physically active when living with a long term health condition or disability can be challenging, the Spoon Theory will help us understand what it's like to live with a long term health condition or disability.

We work closely with a number of valued partners to help make this happen, including Amber Valley CVS, Get Out Get Active Amber Valley, Places Leisure, Derbyshire County Council, Joined Up Care Derbyshire, Arch Primary Care Network, Trilogy Leisure, Amber Valley School Sport Partnership, Activity Alliance, and Active Derbyshire.
