Sport, leisure and wellbeing

Engaging in sport and physical activity can have a significant positive impact on the physical and mental health and wellbeing of residents in Amber Valley. Sports and leisure activities also bring people together, helping to build stronger and more cohesive communities.

Leisure centres

Amber Valley has four leisure centres in the borough, situated in it's main towns of Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and Ripley.

The Alfreton, Ripley and William Gregg Leisure Centre (Heanor) are operated and managed by Places for People Leisure who specialise in the development and management of leisure facilities in partnership with local authorities throughout the UK. 

Belper leisure centre is owned and managed by Belper leisure centre Limited on behalf of the community and local schools. Find out further information about the leisure centres by clicking on the links below.
