In July of this year, Amber Valley Borough Council revoked the boarding premises licence for Barn Farm Dog Day Care. This decision has been appealed and a final Tribunal hearing is expected to take place later this year.
The owner of Barn Farm Services Limited applied to the Tribunal for the revocation to be suspended while the appeal is ongoing.
An interim Tribunal hearing took place on 26 August, where it was decided that the site can continue to operate until the final Tribunal hearing.
The Tribunal also imposed a condition on the operation of the site while the appeal is ongoing, enabling the Council to continue monitoring activities at the premises during this period.
As proceedings are ongoing, we are unable to comment on the specific details of the case at this stage. The outcome will be determined at the final Tribunal hearing and the Tribunal's decision will be published in due course.
We would remind animal owners to check that any business they use holds the appropriate licence for the service being provided. Anyone with concerns about a licensed or unlicensed animal activity can contact our Licensing team at licensing@ambervalley.gov.uk.
