Published ratings

After an inspection, the rating will be uploaded by the regulation team so that it is published on www.food.gov.uk/ratings.

• Ratings of 5, 'very good', will be published within 14 days.  
• Ratings of 0 – 4 will be published 28 days after the date of inspection, allowing time for an appeal to be submitted by the food business if they wish to do so.

For businesses in England, the business owner or manager can request that a rating is published before the end of the appeal period. This request must be made in writing (see below for contact details) or by completing our early publication request form. You must include:

• details of who you are;
• the name and address of the business;
• your contact information;
• the date of the inspection;
• and the rating given.  

We will review the request and will usually publish the rating early.
