  • Where and when you lost your dog

If we find your dog we will contact you as soon as possible to arrange for its return. The authority has a legal obligation to kennel a dog for 7 days and it will then be eligible for rehoming.

Amber Valley enforce legislation in relation to dog control:

  • The Environmental Protection Act 1990 makes it an offence for a dog to freely roam the streets without wearing a collar and disc stating the owners name and address. A fine of up to £5000 can be incurred.
  • The Microchipping of Dogs Regulations 2015 makes it a legal requirement for a dog to be microchipped and the owners details registered with an approved microchip database. Fines of up to £2000 can be incurred.

If you find your dog please let us know as soon as possible so that it can be removed from our records.
