Dog control

With Coronavirus (COVID-19) now affecting many areas of our services to the residents and businesses of Amber Valley, we are keen to keep you right up-to-date with the changes we are being forced to make. Read more about your council services.

Dog control is a top priority for us. Our services help provide educational support to encourage responsible dog ownership. Advice can be offered on stray dogs, dog fouling, disposing of your dog's mess and also lost or found dogs.

Dog litter bins and disposing of dog mess

Landscape services empty and maintain dog bins throughout the borough, primarily in the following locations:

  • Town
  • Parish centres
  • Parks and open spaces
  • Highway and pavements
  • Footpaths

You are also welcome to dispose of your dog's mess in any of the ordinary public litter bins in Amber Valley, or your own household waste bin, providing that it is tidied up in a plastic bag before hand. Please have care for others that will use any public litter bins afterwards.
