Alternative spatial strategy options for housing and economic growth

The borough council resolved on 9 June 2021 to agree alternative spatial strategy options for housing and economic growth, for the purposes of consultation and engagement and to agree a refreshed programme and timetable for the preparation of the new Local Plan.

The alternative spatial strategy options have been published for a period of 12 weeks, commencing on 8 July 2021 with any representations to be received by no later than 4:30pm on Thursday 30 September 2021.

Copies of the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) documents are also available to view at the libraries as detailed above.

The borough council has also produced an updated Strategic Housing And Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA).

Please note that whilst the preparation of the SHELAA has informed the alternative spatial strategy options, the borough council is not consulting on any of the sites included in the SHELAA and that any representations received in respect of the merits or otherwise of individual sites will not be taken into account at this stage in the Local Plan process.
