The Government has introduced a new plan-making system that changes how local authorities prepare Local Plans. As a result, we have reviewed our programme for preparing the new Amber Valley Local Plan to ensure it complies with the latest national requirements.
Work on the new Local Plan is already underway, with evidence gathering and early preparation progressing. In line with the Government's new approach, we currently expect the Local Plan to be adopted by March 2029.
Our new Local plan timetable replaces the Council's previous Local Development Scheme (LDS), which sets out the programme for preparing planning policy documents.
The timetable below outlines the key stages in preparing the new Amber Valley Local Plan. It may be updated as work progresses and as further guidance becomes available from Government.
You can also download the timetable as a spreadsheet (CSV file).
