Parking

Car parks

The borough council currently provides and maintains a total of 28 pay and display car parks throughout the four town centres of Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and Ripley. There are also a number of free car parks in outlying villages. View our car park locations and charges.

Derbyshire County Council is responsible for on street civil parking enforcement and Amber Valley Borough Council manage the car parks and associated off street parking enforcement.

There is the option for residents to purchase a parking permit for use in all car parks during specific times. Alternatively, residents and non-residents can purchase a season ticket that has unrestricted use in all long stay car parks.

Most car parks have spaces close to key facilities specifically for disabled persons.

Motorcycle parking

We do not charge motorcycles to park, however, when parking they must adhere to the regulations relating to the car parks. For example, short stay, and be parked in a marked bay. Please check individual car park signage for more details.
