Season tickets

Amber Valley car park season tickets are on sale. The season ticket allows individuals and businesses to park their vehicle within any Amber Valley long stay car park and potentially save over 50%* on the cost of paying daily.

The season tickets can be purchased for a three, six or twelve-month period and is transferable between a maximum of two specified vehicles. The season ticket can only be used by one vehicle at a time and must be on display when parked.

Up to two registration numbers are allowed on each season ticket application. The season ticket does not guarantee a space.

*The season ticket represent good value for vehicles parking five days per week, attracting a saving of over 50% based upon the paying the daily rate.

When requesting a change of details season ticket, please return the old one. A new one will be issued once payment and the old season ticket have been received. Five days will be added to the expiry date to allow for postage time.

How to apply

You can purchase your permit online via our parking permits payment page or order over the telephone by debit card, please call 01773 841440. Permits will be dispatched to your home address. 

Terms and conditions

Should you be unable to display the season ticket (i.e. lost, damaged, or expired) a regular pay and display ticket must be purchased until a replacement season ticket is obtained. Replacement season tickets may be obtained via our parking permits payment page, or by contacting the parking officer on the contact details below, for the fee shown under charges. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to ensure that the permit is renewed. Lost season tickets are not replaced.

Please be aware that permits must be on display and the payment receipt is not valid in vehicles. Please allow 10 working days to allow for the permit to be processed and dispatched. Permits will be dispatched via Royal mail and the council are unable to guarantee delivery within a specific time frame.   

The season tickets are not applicable for use in the short stay car parks.

Should the civil enforcement officer find the season ticket is being misused or has been tampered with in any way a penalty charge notice will be issued, and the season ticket will be invalid and withdrawn.

The surrender value of purchased permits should they no longer be required is as follows:

Due to the enhanced parking permit charges covering the cost of the controlled stationery issued and postage, enhanced parking permit fees will not be refunded.

Season parking permits will be refunded for unutilised elements of whole months. Please see the surrender value on this page for further information.

Residents car parking permit

Households of Amber Valley will have been sent one residents free parking permit per year which allows free parking from 4pm until 8am the following morning (10am in Heanor).

Maximum stays still apply. This permit is dispatched to the householder in occupation as at 1 April each year.

These are permits are annual issue only, due to this we cannot issue a replacement. If you are an Amber Valley resident and are a regular user of Amber Valley Borough Council car parks, you may want to consider purchasing an enhanced permit.

Residents enhanced car parking permit

Amber Valley residents are invited to upgrade their parking permit to extend the free parking period.  When on display, the permit allows borough residents to park for free on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after 2pm, all day Sunday, and from 4pm until 8am (10am in Heanor) on all days. Not valid in leisure centres.

This permit is available to all Amber Valley households. The permits are vehicle specific and are non-transferrable. Only one permit per vehicle is allowed. This permit is available to new property owners who move into an Amber Valley residential property mid-year.

The specified vehicle must be owned/registered to the Amber Valley resident at their residential address. 

Charges

Residents enhanced permits are available at an administration cost of £8 per permit. The residents permits are non-transferable and no exchange is permitted. Mid-year changes of vehicle registration number will require the purchase of a new permit. Lost or stolen permits are non-refundable.

Additional permits for vehicles registered at the same address can be purchased with proof of vehicle registration.

The council is unable to accept payment by cash, under the council's service provision, we aim to provide excellent, accessible services that meet the needs of all our residents. Should you be unable to make payment by card payment or online and wish to make payment by cheque, please contact the parking section on 01773 841437 to arrange this.

Replacement permits may be obtained via our parking permits payment page or purchased online or by telephone. Please allow 10 working days for the permit to be processed and dispatched.

Should the civil enforcement officer find the permit is being misused a penalty charge notice will be issued.
