New Bin Requests - new build and existing properties

There are currently severe delays for container delivery due to supply issues, the council apologises for the disruption to the service and is working hard to catch up on deliveries as soon as possible.

There is a fee of £90 to provide refuse and recycling bins to newly built properties and any existing properties that do not have any bins . 

If you are moving or have moved into a new build property or an existing property and don't appear to have any bins please follow the advice below:

1. New Build Properties                                                                                                                                                Before purchasing bins please check with the developer/agent that the bins have not already been paid for and arranged to be delivered. If the property developer has not paid for the supply of containers to your home, you will be required to pay.
2. Existing Properties                                                                                                                                                      If you do not have the required waste containers at your property when you move in you will need to purchase your own containers. Please clarify with the previous owners of your property / landlord whether there will be bins in place when you move in.

Standard Waste Containers

Most homes have two standard sized 240-litre wheelie bins and a glass bag:

• 1 x 240L green bin for general household waste
• 1 x 240L grey bin for recyclable waste
• 1 x 40L glass bag

The charge for both of these bins and a glass bag is £90.

Please complete our online payment form if you are ready to order your new bins. This online form will take you through the process of checking if your property has been registered and applying for bins.

Our contractor will usually deliver bins within 10 working days of your moving-in date. Refuse waste will be collected in bags until bins are delivered, please present bags on your normal collection day. Recycling will only be collected after bins have been delivered so, please store any recycling until you have your bins.
