These pages will tell you everything you need to know about recycling and waste. We’ll tell you what you can recycle and where, what happens to your waste when we collect it, and how you can reduce how much waste you produce.
Top tips for frequent questions
- Please note that additional recycling is collected throughout the year. You can put out the equivalent of up to one extra bin full of recycling next to your recycling bin on collection day.
- Large cardboard boxes can be collected if they are broken down into smaller pieces that can easily be fitted inside the recycling bin with the bin lid closed properly. Please either place the cardboard inside the recycling bin on the next recycling collection or leave the cardboard by the side of the bin. However, if it is raining please do not leave the cardboard outside to get wet because the crews will not pick up cardboard that is wet and falling apart.
- Please do not fill glass caddies/glass bags up to the rim because this may cause the bottles to fall out when the caddy/bag is picked up. Caddies/bags must not be overfilled or too heavy to lift otherwise they will not be emptied.
