Social media

Our social media channels are a key part of how we keep you informed and involved in what’s happening across Amber Valley. From service updates and community news to events and consultations, we use these platforms to share timely, helpful, and engaging content with residents, businesses, and visitors.

We want our pages to feel like a positive and respectful space for everyone. That’s why we’ve introduced some simple house rules - to help keep conversations constructive and make sure our channels remain safe, inclusive, and welcoming.

Each of our accounts has a slightly different focus, depending on the audience and the type of content we share. Below is a summary of what you can expect from each of our official profiles.

Amber Valley Borough Council - official channels

Facebook

We use Facebook to share updates about all of our services, local news, events, and consultations. It’s also a space where we engage with residents, answer general enquiries, and connect with the Amber Valley community.

As well as our main Facebook page, some of our services also have their own profiles. On the Visit Amber Valley Facebook page, you’ll find inspiration for days out, local attractions, events, places to eat, and where to stay - highlighting the best of what Amber Valley has to offer.

X (formerly Twitter)

Our X account is used for urgent or emergency updates only - such as severe weather alerts, service disruptions or public safety information. For regular updates and news, we recommend following us on Facebook.

LinkedIn

Our LinkedIn page shares business news, job vacancies, and updates about council projects and initiatives. You’ll also find information about consultations, events, and opportunities to work with or for Amber Valley Borough Council.

Instagram

We do not currently operate a council Instagram page. However, our Visit Amber Valley Instagram page showcases the very best of the borough - from scenic landscapes and heritage sites to local events, food spots, and hidden gems.
